does the worrying ever stop?

Ds (2.9) took a very long time to settle in at his daycare nursery so I'm not new to the crying at drop off.

But Today was something else. He got so so distraught when I went to leave, ran after me & grabbed my leg as I was going out the door & they had to peel him off me while he sobbed & screamed "mummy don't leave me".

I've just called nursery to check on him & been told he's been getting upset quite a bit. So now I'm sitting here at home worrying myself silly. Sad I just want to go & get him but its my last day of revision for an important exam so I can't. Does it ever get any easier???

Oh dear, you sound very worried and upset. When my DD started nursery when she was about your DS's age she would get hysterical and it would take 2 helpers to pull her off me. They were saying 'just go' but of course I didn't want to leave her in that state, but knew that the longer I stayed the worse I was making it. She did settle in the end but it took a long time, and I worried the whole time she was there.

In answer to your question, the worrying never stops, and DD is now 17. You don't stop worrying, you just change what you worry about.
