Angelcare monitor users

We have an angelcare baby monitor but don't have the sensor pad in the cot as DS moves about far too much

It's been fine up to now but today appears to be losing connection.

DS sleeps with white noise playing and usually I can hear the white noise quietly on the parent unit (as you'd expect). He is napping now and the sound keeps coming and going, and the bars along the laft side of the parent unit keep disappearing.

Anyone any ideas?

No sorry but hopefully this will bump for you.

NotSoNervous · 01/06/2013 11:19

No ideas sorry. Is it still in range close enough? Or is it to close?

We had to replace the rechargeable batteries in ours after about a year - that seemed to solve the issue for us.

About a year? It's not been a month yet, lol

As for range - i'm in the living room (where I normally have the monitor when DS is napping) and it's never been a problem so far...

Grrrr!

We have this monitor and if we play white noise that is a continuous sound (eg rainfall) the monitor will 'tune out' and not pick it up.

have you changed what sort of white noise you play? does it have periods of playing the same sound for a while, if so then the monitor might be 'tuning out' during these periods...

I expect you'll say it's the same white noise you've always used but thought it was worth mentioning!

Yeah it's an app I downloaded on iTunes - All stemmed from DS being tiny and a complete screaming mess. The hoover helped a little and I got to the point where anything was better than the screaming so we would put the hoover on for his sake and mine. Then I found this app which has various different white noises but one of them sounds exactly like our hoover and h still sleeps with it now at 6m.

It may be that its tuning out i guess - I think I read that it shuts down if it doesn't detect noise etc...

Mine only clicks on when noise is detected. Just a thought but do you have the White noise on before you put the monitor on? If so, it might be detecting this as normal, baseline noise iyswim and so clicks off until it detects another noise

MrsMagpieCovetsShinyThings · 01/06/2013 20:52

Ours also only clicks on when noise is made. We have 'rain' noise playing for dd and it doesn't pick it up, only coming on when she makes a peep. (Rain noise is playing before monitor is switched on.)

Hey so mine used to do this when I turn it on it picked up the noise then it would turn off and it wouldn’t turn on until baby cries but now it keeps turning on randomly and I don’t know why
