Need advice on "loud music".

My partner seems to think that it won't cause any harm to "occasionally" play loud music around our 18 week old son. What do you think about this? I'm worried it'll effect his hearing later on, but DP doesn't agree. We have a family party in 2 weeks time, and he says that, by playing loud music now, he will then be used to it at this party. I do not feel this will make a difference. Are there any leaflets that I could get from my HV or doctor explaining the dangers to make him see that I'm not just nagging at him, but that I'm genuinely concerned, and that he needs to stop it!

Sorry for long post, but thanks in advance Smile

Loud music is not something the ears "get used to"

Have a read of this, in particular the section subtitled 'How does loud noise damage the ear?'

Thank you FringeEvent, that's really useful.
It's actually quite scary that I've let him get away with it over the past weeks. It definitely won't be happening anymore!
