cheeky wipes

i'm sure this has been done a thousand times but here goes...

Please can any cheeky wipes users tell me what you think of them?
And, is there anywhere in the northwest that you can go to buy them or do they have to be ordered online?

I didn't buy cheeky wipes because it's really easy to make your own! I just bought cheap flannels and a spray bottle that I fill with water and a drop of baby bath.

I was happy with them but in hindsight I should have made my own and saved a bit of cash!

I've bought various washable wipes either at NCT sales or from real nappy websites (I used Green Mums which is local to where I live). They were all fairly basic and cheap. I didn't use reusable wipes with DS1 but have with DS2 and love them (though I don't use them out). I just keep them in an old sandwich box dampen them when I need them and then chuck them in the bucket with the nappy for washing. I found the best kind were those with fleece on one side and toweling on the other (toweling for stubbon poo and fleece for delicate areas).

I use them for hands and face only and bought them from the website. Got them as DS has bad eczema on his face and now he's weaning I realised I couldn't use normal baby wipes on his face to wipe off food as it sets his eczema off badly. Unfortunately the essential oils that form the cheeky wipes "thing" also set off his eczema and without the oil, they smell a bit musty.

Experimenting with ways of avoiding this but all tips gratefully received.

I've used cheeky wipes for my ds and now my dd. I bought them while pregnant with ds and suspected at the time that they might have been a hormonal mistake but I've loved them. I now dry pail them in with nappies, I hated the wet tub of dirty ones. I've not bought replacement oil from them, I just use lavender and camomile, a few drops of each. Cold water to soak them and enough of it helps to not make them musty. My first batch are still going strong, I've added to them. I also used them out and about with ds but haven't managed that this time, I did eye the double compartment bag the other day but can't justify it! (Bulk bought Eco disposables just before, I only get through about one packet every 2 months). Yes, you can make them if you're so inclined but I'm not .

Got two sets (one for hands/faces, one for bums. More than a year on they're still going strong and just got some extras for imminent baby number 2.

Like a pp I didn't order more oil from them when I ran out. I just bulk bought 100ml of lavender essential oil from eBay and refill the little bottle. Much cheaper!

I also dry pail mine with my reusable nappies. Wash every other day.

They're a bit of an investment but I wouldn't want to make them myself (hemming 50 cloths, no thanks!) so definitely worth the money to me. DH loves them too and we're always cursing disposable wipes whenever we have to use them (holidays & such).

whatsoever have you tried coconut oil mixed with water? Smells amazing and is incredibly gentle and good for eczema :)

I use them on 4mo DD and even took them abroad recently! Took 10, plus the clean/dirty travel bags plus a bar of Vanish soap. Managed to get them cleaner hand washing them than the washing machine normally does - possibly not the most fun way to spend your holiday, but it was nice pegging them out in the sun rather than the grotty uk weather!

We just use fleece wipes from eBay which we run under the tap. Changing table is in bathroom mind you. Do have some towelling flannel type ones but find them a bit 'crispy'.

I use them. Bamboo for bottoms & Microfibre for faces. I really rate them. DD has eczema so even the sensitive wipes are a trigger. She did have an allergic reaction the mandarin oil but is fine with the lavender & chamomile as well as the rose & geranium oils. I dry pail the bottom wipes with the nappies and use the mucky box for the face wipes. I have 2 packs of each and always dry the wipes before reusing.

I've just ordered some - I wimped out of making my own and have ordered the kit. I found a money off voucher so saved a bit of mney there and will hopefully save more by not using disposables. I've ordered the tea tree oil with them so we'll give it a whirl.
I'm rather excited for them arriving but fear it will be a couple of weeks as they're out of stock and website says order for june delivery. I tried finding somewhere that sold them that I could just go to and buy them but was unsuccessful. never mind, i'll just have to learn to be patient

We love ours, have used them for over 3 years now. I am not at all good with my hands and struggle to find time for crafty things so there was no question of making my own. We have never used the out and about stuff though. The skin on ds's bottom never looks quite as perfect when he has had a couple of days with wet wipes

I use washable wipes but not those ones. Poundshop baby flannels are great, as are wee notions bamboo wipes.
