I'm having a lovely day and i thought I'd share it with you :)
When i was pg and flat hunting I saw the flat we now have on line and burst into tears. I was so perfect and had everything i needed including a big sunny garden with veg patch, all overgrown but with a bit of work usable. I had a flash of me digging the garden with baby asleep in her basket in the shade, ( que more hysterical hormone crying) it was the first really positive picture i had. Today I made that picture real. :)

rosiedays · 25/09/2013 12:48

(Breaking posts so I don't loose sorry)

rosiedays · 25/09/2013 13:06

Over the summer dh has worked really hard, ( I've done very little due to pg and dd :) ) I finally got round to planting out the herb garden and 2 fruit bushes I'd been given at the weekend and today with baby asleep in her basket in the garden I've finished digging the borders over ready for planting. Yom assel. :)

PuddingAndHotMilk · 25/09/2013 13:53

That sounds lovely Rosie! You'll enjoy that for years to come. I have a picture of you and Rosebud planting out together once she's toddling. Lovely Thanks

scarecrow22 · 25/09/2013 14:38

Thanks Rosie. Enjoy with Brew ( and next spring with Wine Smile )

rosiedays · 25/09/2013 14:38

pudding inshalla we won't be here then. It's do love gardening and having a nice garden though. Always ended up missing Green in Dahab. Does your friend have the baby things you'll need ? Let me know if you need anything as i still have friends there who have had babies

can't wait to take her rock pooling and beach combing though.

rosiedays · 25/09/2013 14:45

*scarecrow i think I might treat myself to a Wine tonight :) dh wants to bbq. ..... sun is blazing here

PuddingAndHotMilk · 25/09/2013 16:08

Thanks Rosie! She has a travel cot apparently and we're taking pram and car seat so I think we're good...
I'm very excited and very nervous in equal measure!

How's everyone's day going? The sun is out here so I have nappies out on the line - that always makes me smile Smile

GoatBongoAnonymous · 25/09/2013 20:19

Rosie, what a lovely day!
BG and I had a lovely day too. He helped me cook, do the laundry, tidy up, make the beds. We created an artistic masterpiece, played the piano (also known as George), went for a long walk and had a go on the swing. He is now out cold in his cot - I think my mission to exhaust him has worked!

GoatBongoAnonymous · 25/09/2013 20:25

If anyone would like to see BG in action, I have uploaded a photo. For some reason it is sideways and I can't seem to change it...

EagleRay · 25/09/2013 23:19

Goat I think you've made your profile invisible as it can't be clicked on - the MN profile/pics stuff is a PITA as it's a nightmare to upload anything and make it visible! Glad you had a lovely day - such precious time when you have one day free during the week.

Rosie Envy at your big sunny garden. Wonderful isn't it when you realise your dreams have become reality. Am so pleased you've had such an uplifting moment as it's a great reward for all the hard work that a new baby brings. I dreamt last year of spending the summer lying in my hammock in the garden, with a baby curled up next to me, and we did indeed spend many sunny afternoons curled up together in it this year, although in my dreams the baby just sat there and appreciated it and didn't need feeding, entertaining, shielding from the sun etc!

We had a lovely day today too! Swimming first thing, and then because we hadn't had time for breakfast, we popped into the sports cafe afterwards (the pool I use is at an olympic training centre) and had a fabulous breakfast on the roof terrace in the sun. This afternoon, I took the bike trailer out on my own for the first time. Logistically quite difficult as the trailer is kept in a garage about 100m from the house and DP had left it completely dismantled so took a fair while to get down there and assemble everything and load up DD, but we managed it. Had to cycle a mile or so through rush hour traffic and then onto a beautiful cycle path, stopping off at a riverside cafe then headed home.

Was laughing at DD in the jumperoo earlier today - she's started jumping in it properly now and kicks her legs out sideways like a ballerina - very dainty! Wondered if all babies did this, or if it's her particular style?

PuddingAndHotMilk · 26/09/2013 06:38

I've had mixed success with BabyPud. I clocked the point this evening where we would have kept her awake too long and settled her down for 30 mins and we had a much better evening. She slept 10-11 fed then dozed with DH. After another feed she slept 1:30-5 and I've spectacularly failed to settle her since. She'll sleep in my boob but then is wide awake when I put her down Sad
Perseverance is key I guess.

Rosie I hope rosebud is being kind
Eagle, sounds like a fab day

GoatBongoAnonymous · 26/09/2013 08:15

Argh, I hate the profile thingy, and it seems to have deleted everything Hmm - have reloaded pic, poked a few random buttons and let's see if it's public now!

Eagle, that's definitely a BabyEagle special with the sideways leg kicking! It must look amazing!

Pudding I really sympathise about the early waking. This morning was 5:30, which is a lie-in in the Goat household. If you find a magic solution, please let me know... I might have to get up at 6 anyway, but I am fond of that last half hour!

rosiedays · 26/09/2013 09:47

Morning everyone :)
Hope you all had a peaceful night and lots of sleep! !
High Fivepudding it feels great when it works doesn't it :)
goat looks like you training up a great future husband. ;)
We had a lovely evening . The bbq was rained off so wehad egyptain ddinner sat on the floor eating with bread and talking about the old days. So many happy memories of living the dream. :) ( safari season starts this week so we'd have been moving from dahab to hgd,; ccatching up with friends and looking forward to a sunny winter at sea) we both agreed rosebud is betterthan sharks, dolphin and manta though and I'm so very glad that we're in UK for this bit of her life.

somewherebecomingrain · 26/09/2013 10:20

Hello all

Some wonderful days being described.

eagle props at making trailer! It all sounds divine! From terrace to riverside from pool to lazy bike ride in sun.

Don't remember my ds doing the ballerina thing! Sounds über cute. Is it a girl thing? Reminds me of baby some's trick of leaning sideways in her bumbo with the coyest little smile and sometimes even an arm outstretched like a chubby pavlova.

pudding you have nabbed the cutest name there. Well done on some sleeping. Like eagle my girl stays up late - 9pm at the mo. I also sleep with her in the bed (took all the precautions) so let her sleep on me while feeding and am lucky can sleep like that myself. This is of no help if this doesn't work for you but just to sketch out the option. Whatever works!

rosie I love your garden fantasy come true. One thing I miss most as We rent out our house is the garden. That was a lovely story.

goat how did the piano get to be called George???

AFM I'm tackling the school gates. I'm being a total woody Allen - have got it into my head that its vital to ignore each mum or dad two pickups out of three so they don't think I'm 'latching on'. Then be friendly and chat one in three encounters. Over thinking? That's my style.

Ds is a bit stunned but bouncing back. He came home yesterday All Fired Up. No interest in telly. 'Mum I want to make a map'. This turned into a magical map and magical sparkly hands (magic hands are an ongoing theme with ds). When it was time to make dinner I had to beg him to watch a bit of telly.

knicky you must be going through this too no? I hope you are ok hon xxx

rosiedays · 26/09/2013 13:38

Dd must be hhaving a growth spurt. She has fed hourly since 6am and Iis not wasting energy on silly noises or letting tht nipple go anywhere! !!! She's feeding to sleep each feed sleeping 45 mins then feeding again! !!! Have taken up root on the ( slightly wonky) sofa with chocolate milk and flapjacks. :)

scarecrow22 · 26/09/2013 14:06

go BabyRosebud Grin

scarecrow22 · 26/09/2013 14:06

somewherebecomingrain · 26/09/2013 14:58

Just made fish fingers for baby some from the blw cookbook.

Has anyone gone here?

www.babyledweaning.com/recipes/

Amazing simple recipes tho not tried any yet. But eg choc Aubergine cake - always wanted to try that.

Waves to knotty and mrsw and bbd

lrm how's it going?

rosiedays · 26/09/2013 19:07

some I'd forgotten the school gate horror! ! I'm Confused by your tactics. ... I'd forget who i was supposed to egnor. Lol. Last time I was looked down on for being the youngest. .... This time I'd be to old. Another good reason for home school. :)

Feeding continues relentlessly. ... where is she putting it all? ???

scarecrow22 · 26/09/2013 20:02

Rosie has rosebud stopped feeding yet? lol

somewhere babySome is amazing with her weaning. T loves food but nit yet able to feed himself. The will is there but not the skill poor mite. He ate so much he dropped two milk feeds today and last night slept 11 h straight. I don't expect a repeat but I like that he can. He is in cot with no crib tonight for first time so wondering how he'll get on.

I have had an awful week. Worst bit was DD lying on the floor sobbing and screaming and trying to cling to my ankle Sad. I and her key worker agreed settling in started at 30m alone then 45m and an hour today. It has been a bit torturous but there has been a definite improvement while she's been there from sobbing nearly all time to quitting crying quite quickly today and she actually played on the Play Doh table and was smiling when I got back. She can be exasperating but she is so wonderful too. My favourite currently is she keeps looking down at her new pyjama too and saying "my rabbit is 'side down mummy" Not Brain of Britain but super cute Smile She was also brushing my hair on Tuesday and suddenly announced mid chat "and you are the best mummy in the whole wide world"

Sorry not to name check.more

scarecrow22 · 26/09/2013 20:05

am already dreading school gate horror. And play dates. I will only see my children two afternooons a week, max, so don't want to share my dc, let alone let them go to somebody else's house.

littleredmonkey · 26/09/2013 20:13

Hi gang.
Wow some power feeding sessions going on. You will defo want double flapjacks to see you through
Loving the days you are describing ladies.
Baby monkey is sleeping at nursery but taken four steps back here waking loads here 5 times last night and earlier and earlier waking. Took ages and a huge melt down. I think separation anxiety he grips me so hard. I ended up doing three breast feeds in a row while tapping his bum gently.

rosiedays · 26/09/2013 20:55

Well the feed fest continues. ... she has honestly just eaten and slept ALL day. .. I have eaten a box of flap jacks, 1/2 loaf of bread as toast dripping in butter 4bananas 2yogarts 2 bowls of musilie and a huge plate of spinach lasagne. Drunk a ltr of chocolate milk 2of fruit juice and copious amount of tea... :)
