Bastard thing keeps going out of range and the annoying alarm goes off at all hours. It's not out of range- it's in the next room..

Does anyone else have this experience or a solution?

We have it. Doesn't happen in our house but does when we've taken it to my mum & dad's as they have thick walls. Nowt you can do I'm afraid.
