full time job

I have the most amazing job of all,

Teaching my children to ride a bike and kick a ball,

The hours they vary from early morning to late at night

Looking after my children is such a delight

The dirty nappies and the late night feed

Caring for their every need

Applying cream when their scratchy and spotty,

chasing them and putting them on the potty!

theres always plenty of smiles and plenty of tears,

this job i will have for the rest of my years

watching them grow is the most amazing thing!

you never know what each day will bring

A full time job...and the rate of pay

its not by the hour or by the day

It comes in bucket loads of love and joy

from my two gorgeous girls and my handsom boy!

at the end of a busy day I can finally sit down

the way i juggle chors, id make a good clown!

I take a few moments as I lay down in bed

and cannot think of a job I'd rather do instead

Some of us do all that AND work full time.

Just sayin'.

Numberlock · 15/05/2013 18:23

Big pat on the back for you.

pizzaqueen · 15/05/2013 18:25

Wow. What a great way to make working mums feel bad they can't be at home with their kids. Some people don't have that luxury.

And btw I do all of that above and work 3 days a week. Some mums do all of the above and hold down a full time job. I don't quite get your point.

StealthOfficialCrispTester · 15/05/2013 18:26

:-) I'm happy that you're happy op

HarrietSchulenberg · 15/05/2013 18:26

Good that you can afford to do that job. Rich husband or on benefits? Some of us have to work to survive and still find time to do all those things with our children.

Foxred10 · 15/05/2013 18:28

I was just sick in my mouth a little bit Hmm

Foxred10 · 15/05/2013 18:29

And "for the rest of my years" so they'll still be on the potty and expecting night feeds at 45 will they??! Grin

knackeredmother · 15/05/2013 18:31

I work a 50+ hour week and do that. Probably why I'm knackered! I think the op probably meant it lightheartedly, it's the kind of thing that appears on my fb feed. And I promptly delete the poster.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 15/05/2013 18:35

bully for you

changechangechange · 15/05/2013 18:35

Yay, full time mummies! - Unlike the ones who also go to work and therefore magically cease to be a mother all of the time. Hmm

Sunnysummer · 16/05/2013 03:00

But Harriet, "she can't think of a job she'd rather do instead"! Not like those mean part-time mummies who much prefer to spend all day working at a Tesco checkout, for example...

DeafLeopard · 16/05/2013 04:37

Is this one of those crappy poems that do the rounds on Facebook or something?
