d confusion

Hello all.
I am new to mumsnet, was told about it from a friend last week, and have been quite confused by the ds dd thing.
Now, I am presuming that the last letter is the person, eg dd is daughter, ds is son, dh is dear husband, etc. But I have no idea what the d means at the beginning and am struggling with some of the others. I mean, if dt is twins then what is triplets?
Sorry if this sounds weird, but reading posts has become more of a guessing the relation game.
Thank you in advance.

Darling (or dear I guess): Darling Son, Darling Husband etc.

....unless you are annoyed with them, in which case it's dreaded/dratted/dastardly etc.
