Sunglasses for babies ??

Hi,

The NHS website recommends that babies should wear sunglasses to protect their eye from the sun and that the sunglasses should comply with certain British Standards (www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/safety-in-the-sun.aspx). Does anyone know where I can get these??

I've tried all the high street shops and even though they have a wide range of sunglasses for babies, none of them mentions anything about the British Standard. I even called the customer service helpline of a few stores and they were unable to confirm if their sunglasses complied with the standards... Hmm

Thanks !

We bought some from a camping shop last week. Not sure about any particular 'standards' though.

Most reputable shops will sell sunglasses that conform to the EU standard, this is not limited to children's sunglasses but applies to all.
I know the tags on sunglasses in boots state they conform to this standard and what filter category they are.

ZOOBUGS. I bought a pair of these for my son this week, whilst fairly expensive £30 Blush they are brilliant, sturdy and flexible so will not break and come in their own tiny case.
I was recommended them by an optometrist.

They are childrens glasses specialists. You will not be disappointed.

you can get babybanz from amazon, useful as they wrap around the head so they're less likely to pull them off. They're an aussie brand but conform to the standards.

Thanks all!
Loupee Even I assumed that most stores will only stock sunglasses that comply with standards... but I was surprised when they weren't able to confirm...

Cubtrouble I did check out Zoobugs... Just have to convince myself that about spending £30-£40 for my 7 mo :)

Will also have a look at JoJo and Baby BanZ...
