Hi all,

My DS is almost 7 mo and has just learned to sit unaided... but does sometimes topple over (on to cushions :) )
He is very tall for his age... so which highchair would you recommend ??

Thanks in advance for all your help :)

Molehillmountain · 07/05/2013 19:27

I'd like to be original...but it's antilop all the way here. I might add we had a lovely wooden one for dc 1 and 2. Load of rubbish!! Pretty rubbish but still rubbish.

CrackedNipplesSuchFun · 07/05/2013 19:31

Antilop, you will not regret it, I promise Smile.

I started with a stupid expensive high chair, all very pretty and grand but my god it was impractical. Food squished in seams, which were a bitch to get out. Well I gave that away and shelled out all of £5 on a second hand Antilop and it has been ace. Easy to clean, study, robust.

We had the Graco Contempo (free w Tesco club card vouchers) rather than the Antilop as i wanted to fold it down and get it out of the way between meals. I eventually got cross with cleaning all the bits out of the padding and decided I wanted to replace it with something more like a piece of furniture to be out all the time, as DS started colouring/doing activities at the table as he passed one) and so got the Baby Dan which I love, DS now sits right at the table with us. This is also possible with the Antilop and given its under £20 reckon its a great starting place.

Wow !! I better put an order in for Antilop... Thanks all :)

Cubtrouble · 07/05/2013 21:03

Antilop, it staggers me people buy anything else lol!!

My little one does like to escape so I keep him seated with the use of a set of clippasafe reigns and some ingenious knots!

addictedtotoast · 07/05/2013 21:16

Ikea one

Yet another vote for the Antilop here too. Been using it for a year now and it's brilliant. So easy to keep clean!

Jojay · 07/05/2013 22:07

Antilop. SIL has just ditched her huge expensive one after using the antilop at our house.

BikeRunSki · 07/05/2013 22:08

Just in case you are not sure - Antilop

Molehillmountain · 07/05/2013 23:08

I actually prefer the look of the antilop too. The single solitary thing I could say was better about the other one is that it worked as a chair for quite some time after we stopped using it as a highchair with straps and tray. But ikea do children's chairs that are high enough to go up to the table and you'd get one of those as well as the antilop and still have change from what a normal highchair would cost.
