Trapped wind

Hi, I think my 6 week old has trapped wind. He's always been quite windy from his bottom. He is both breast and bottle fed (with expressed milk).

He is constantly writhing around, pulling his legs up and thrashing his arms about. It's not so bad if he's asleep whilst I'm holding him but once he's in his Moses basket he grunts and groans.

I've given him some in facial before his feed. Also tried rubbing his tummy.

I found woodwards gripe water was the best for wind and also fast acting.

Have you tried bicycling his legs and a bit of baby massage?

My 9 week old suffered from this from about 5 weeks and we ended up using infacol before each feed, and gripe water after each feed, they worked really well and then also did tummy massage 3 times a day - look it up on you tube 'massage for a baby with colic'. It does get better!
