DD is 20 months old and I was wondering if I should give it a shot. She climbed out about 2 months ago but hasn't done it since so I think it was a fluke.

What's your experiences/tips?

Give it a go.

DD was 2.5 and we had no problems at all.

My DD was 18 months. Did it because she suddenly decided she didn't want to sleep at night and someone suggested trying a toddler bed.

DD was just over 3, but she never climbed out and I wanted to get my money's worth out of it! She was very good to begin with but is now (4 months later) a bit of a bugger for getting in and out at bedtime, especially on nursery days.

I've got a gate that can go across her bedroom door and am aware that it might be more hassle than it's worth!

Ds2 was 16months when he went into a full size single.

Bit different for us though as he'd never slept in a cot (co-slept)

We didn't have any problems with him though. Worth a try at least.

If she's happy in her cot then I would keep her in it as long as possible. Have you already got a toddler bed? If not I would just put her into a normal single bed when she has outgrown the cot. I've never really understood the point of toddler beds.
