Ive started again looking after 3 grandchildren 6, 3,and 2 . setting boundries is hard going and im not getting anywhere fast , the 6 yr old disrupts the the other two and chaos reigns , Ive took him to one side and told him to behave explained when his behaviour is unacceptable and even sent him to his room to calm down and think about what he has just done but the bad behaviour is back again and again and no talking or timeout seems to be working , what am I doing wrong , the 3 yr old is picking up on this behaviour and is now copying , my heads a shed , I`m mentally tired and I don't know what else to do , advice needed pls

Tricky.

Set of rules by years? Ie 6 rules for the 6 year old, 3 for 3 year old, etc. obviously some consistency with the younger ones ie play nicely, do as you are asked.

Scale of punishments too: time out, take away a toy, chores?

Not sure if that's any help, just ideas, sorry.
