How often do you change your child's toothbrush?

ds1 is 2 years old and I let him "brush" his teeth for a while each time before I do a proper job. He tends to bite/chew on the toothbrush (despite my teachings) causing the bristles to splay so I go through toothbrushes at a ridiculous rate (-maybe one a week). Does anyone else have this problem?
