Just that really it's too cold to go to the coast Blackpool /southport. N we don't really wanna spend £60 on theme park. Went to the zoo last month. Any ideas were in the north west?

Science and Industry museum (MOSI) in Manchester. Free entry, fab for all ages as they have interactive bits, two cafes.

Tatton park? Huge playground and a little farm there. They have a really cool haunted medieval hall and a stately home. It's only £5 parking.

Cheshire Ice Cream farm is lovely-also a candle making factory/workshop thingy up the road from it too.

Church Farm on the Wirral - you can go to Wirral Country Park and the beach at Thursaston st the same time!

Yy to Cheshire Farm.

Tatton Park has loads on but you have to pay for various bits and parking.

We had a lovely walk at Delamere Forest yesterday and there's a Go Ape! course which looked like fun!

For a 2 yo I would recommend Cheshire Farm!

We went to tatton park last week and it was brill. It's lambing season and they had baby lambs in the farm which were born that morning, its fiver parking then £6 per adult for the farm but you can get a family ticket for about £28 and go in the house and gardens aswell x

There is a free farm you can go to through Broughton/ Barton.

Has a cafe and soft play when it gets too cold.

Where in nw are you?

We've decided on Cheshire ice cream farm for today then Chester later for a nice tea Grin thanks for all your suggestions. We're in Bolton. Gonna save Tatton park for better weather. Friend has suggested Marton Mere has anybody been there? X

Martin mere is fantastic, and just down the road is windmill farm which is nice.

TheOneWithTheHair · 07/04/2013 11:43

Martin Mere is good. Never thought of it as it's a treck from me. Closer to you though I think.

Have a lovely time at the ice cream farm. :)

MrsHoarder · 07/04/2013 11:48

Martin Mere is great, should be ducklings at this time of year. If you want some fresh air from Bolton, why not head up through Rivington and go to Lever Park. The views from Rivington Pike should be great today, or you could just wander alongside the reservoirs.

Is Rufford Old Hall open yet? Or just a few hours in the gardens at Haigh Hall (good play area there too)

Growlithe · 07/04/2013 11:52

Martin Mere is great. The cafe and the playarea there are superb. Love the Ice Cream Farm too, have a good day. Smile

Farmer Teds near Ormskirk is great on a day like today :). Wellybobs East Lancs way is also meant to be good too.
