This morning ds1 (28 months) walked into our bedroom saying: "mama, i made a mess in my room. and i have a stnky foot"
I looked up -still half asleep- to discover ds1 standing there completely naked. He had taken off his pj-s, and his nappy, and had tried to wipe himself with the nappy wipes. Then he had stepped in the nappy, and walked to the bathroom, to try and wash. Poor boy Blush, I feel like such a bad mum now!
He's been showing signs of being ready to be potty trained (takes off his trousers, tells us when he needs a poo, and has managed to do both pee and poo on potty before...). I guess he's ready, and we'll have to start potty training.
Any advice?

try to stay in for a few days, and when you do venture out don't be tempted to put a nappy back on! It will confuse him.
Be prepared for quite a few accidents!
take him for a wee often (eg hourly) and don't rely on him to tell you for a while yet.

Good luck honneybunny!

I'm teetering on teh edge too.

On Saturday morning I got up and went downstairs to make a cup of tea, leaving DS upstairs with DH, who was still pretty much asleep.

When I came back up, DS had taken himslef into the bathroom, shut the door, and was changing his own nappy Grin

He's 26 months.

There are lots of threads telling you how to go about it, if you search through.

my ds completely refused to have a nappy put on one day when he was 22months....so i left a potty nearby him all the time and sat him on it every 20minutes...quite a few accidents that day but by the afternoon he was going and doing it himself....kept him in for a couple of days doing this....with NO pants or trousers on at all.

then i put pants on him and helped him pull them down..then progressed to trousers as well...

now at 25months he is completely dry, goes to the toilet on his own (i still help pull his trousers down)...he find it very hard waking up in the night to tell me when he needs a wee...so i get him up just before i go to bed...and when i go wee in early hours.
potty training really isnt hard...it just needs patience
