Nearly 2 ds refuses dinner - at wits end

I'm really struggling with this situation and am hoping some more experienced parents can offer some advice. I'm not an experienced user of this board so

Sorry to hear you're struggling. Toddlers are fun, right?!

Can you give some more info? Does he normally eat well? Is this a new situation? Does he eat ok at breakfast? Do you eat as a family or does he eat on his own? Is he overly tired at dinner time? (Is dinner at midday or six ish? I'm up north and dinner is my evening meal ...). Does he eat well at nursery/grandma's?

I'm sure someone here can offer some wisdom ...

Its hard but I just remember the mantra I learnt on MN that as parents its our job so offer a well balanced meal (well fairly well balanced) but not ours to make them eat it. That's what I keep reminding myself when DS2 has 2 mouthfuls and no more. Sometimes it takes a lot of offering a dish before they will eat it - DS2 was presented with leek and potato soup for months which he flatly refused - eventually one time he dipped his spoon and tasted it and finally he will eat a bowlful - which is good because I only make two types of soup in this house!
Good luck it is hard but they will eat - eventually.

Very normal. Are they eating at all? Best advice is to not stress, gve them loads of healthy snacks and do not encourage/cajole/nag/beg/scold/weep etc if they don't eat.
