Hallo and welcome. You'll soon be addicted Wink.

Best advice I can think of - and you'll get masses - is to be as laid-back as possible. Never show any reaction to any accidents. "Oh, right. Well, let's get you a fresh pair of knickers. Remember to tell Mummy next time you need to do a wee-wee." Also, at first don't ask if he/she wants to go to the toilet, just take them.

hi clumsy - we are on about day 8 of potty training and its going quite well. I've found you have to go through several stages...

  1. get their buy in - treats, sticker chart, a jaffa cake whilst sitting on potty works well even if its not particulary good toilet habit Blush. the idea being that they like sitting on the potty.
  1. using potty because you've sat them on it - start with every half an hour and then when you know aprox how long they usually go between wees you can stretch it out.
  1. finally they tell you when they need to go and they are potty trained. job done.

at the moment we are having about 6/7 wees per day and ds probably tells me only about 1 or 2 of these occasions that he needs to go. i expect it could be several more weeks before he is reliable.
