DS 10mo is a sponge just now and wants to copy everything we do. How can I play with him in such a way to make learning fun for us both? Today he learned o put one of his balls inside a stacking cup.

Stacking rings cups, balls. Mine learned to throw a ball around this age. ELC has a wooden postbox that was a big hit at 11 months. Also they love taking things ou and putting them in. When they do, say 'inside' and 'out' to help the earn the words. Also very basic lift out puzzles. Won't be able to master it yet but good to get a feel for it. My son is 13 months and obsessed with play kitchen stuff. Loves cooking and feeding his toys. Also mega blocks are good for motor skills and kids love taking them apart. Tomy has squeaky eggs that are a big hit. Mine also liked nursery rhymes with actions at this stage. Inch Wincy, Pat a Cake, the Grand old Duke, Twinkle Twinkle etc were all big hits. They also start enjoying those 'Thats not my...' books where they can feel the board books. Oh a d finally those hammer and peg wooden things. I could drink several cups of tea while he hammered away and it is still a favourite.
