The (very) touchy, feely 3.10yr old. How do I stop him?

He's only been like it a couple of months so it's not like he's always been like it. It's like he can't help himself.

And people have started mentioning now about what a touchy, feely child he is.

It makes it worse, being summer here and everyone in shorts or skirts/dresses and short sleeve tops.

He seems to have an obsession with legs, especially if they are smooth. Trying to stroke them.

His Kindy teachers have told me that they just ignore him when he tries (or actually does) stroke their legs, I've been telling him, age appropriately, that he can't just go around stroking people's legs without their permission, and repeat, repeat, repeat.

I've asked a few other parents, but they say they've never had this problem. Is it just my ds?

He's seeking out smooth sensations so I'd give him something to feel. Get some silky fabric and sew a bit into his pocket for example. Maybe find a key ring or toy he likes to stroke and let him carry it round. It'll take some trial and error to see what he likes.

You also need to explain you can touch mums legs etc but no one else's
