DS was quite late - somewhere between 3 and 4 months - HV was quite concerned and came round weekly to check on him...

both mine were 6 weeks - which surprised me. It was only for a short time though and I still tended to support mine. It all depends what you mean by 'holding up head' - ie. how long for

suppose it depends how strong their neck muscles were at birth. some do it even at 3 weeks! lying them on their tummy helps though doesn't it?

dd is holding her head up in her passport pic, taken before 3 weeks.

Very early. I can't remember exactly but have early photos of her unsupported. She had pretty strong neck muscles from birth.

from birth... the nurses in the intensive care unit were quite surprised Grin
