Has anyone paid for help with getting their child to sleep?

Some friends of ours have used a company called Millpond. Googling today I also found Child Sleep Solutions. For around £200 they give you support in a tailored plan to help your child sleep and support over the phone for a few weeks.

Our ds, usually a good sleeper, has been coming into our room several times a night for over a month now. We've tried most things we can think of and asked for advice, but getting no where. Just wondering it anyone has had good experience of these kind of services and if it would be worth the money!

Bumping for you.

Disturbed sleep over many nights is killing and I would try anything but before spending £200 I might see if there was anything on Amazon to buy and read instead? There's a £6.49 paperback by the Millpond Clinic also several books by William Sears who I believe is an American expert.

Thanks for the bump. You would think that dh and I could sort this out. We also have a dd(5) who was a bad sleeper and we eventually used controlled crying and that sorted her out. Ds has had a few bad patches of sleeping, but we've always found that being consistent about bedtime and then if he is up in the night, putting him straight to bed has eventually helped. But nothing seems to help this time. Got tired of reading through advice now to be honest and just want someone to tell me what to do!

Or a team of nannies while you sleep blissfully in the west wing! I hear your pain, good luck Smile

We used these people. Worth their weight in gold. We used the over the phone service and they tailored a plan for us. After months and months and months of sleepless nights ds finally started to sleep through without needing to do controlled crying. He's five now and the best sleeper ever. Has slept 12 hours a night without fail since we used these people (around his first birthday).

You can pay people to do this and it works?????? Oh I am breaking into the savings account I am at breaking point. Any recommendations for the Yorkshire area?

Thanks for the recommendation BlameItOnTheBogey. Glad it worked for you. Yes, Purplecatti, there seem to be a few companies around (Millpond I've heard of and also Child Sleep Solutions). Seems to be around £200 for a tailored plan + support and they don't push any particular type of method such as CC etc. As dh and I were saying, we'd happily pay that sort of money to fix a broken car or a gas boiler. What price for good night's sleep?!

Oh and I don't think it matters what area you are in, they all seem to do support over the phone or by email.
