Yesterday, I found myself sitting on the potty, yes, an actual toddler sized potty.

dd doesn't like the toilet because the last time she sat on it, she let go and her bum went down the middle, and even with the toddler seat, she glares at it and says, "no, wet bum."

However she does show interest in the potty but is still hesitant to use it because potty is for babies (thank her db for that!) So, to prove a point we went to the bathroom, and I sat on the potty and wee'd. My dh found this hilarious and snapped a photo which has nearly circulated around the family.

But my embarrassment wasn't for nothing, she used the potty for the first time today! Her reasoning, "bum, no wet"

Have you ever had to do anything ridiculous?

I think I actually pooed in a potty once in order to demonstrate it. I'm not sure though. It was during a particularly difficult parenting period, and I've attempted to wipe much of it from my memory.

I can confirm my bladder is larger than a potty, though.

Ds had severe feeding difficulties as a baby and didn't manage to start weaning until he was 15 months old, after lots of hospital admissions. He was skinny and I was desperate for him to eat. He was less than keen, but could be spoon fed some puree by dh if I danced about like a loon in front of him to distract him. I believe he was so stunned at my lack of coordination and ability to stay in tune that he opened his mouth and dh was able to shove some food in. Ds is now 4 and I look back at that time and think, what was I thinking...!
