My dd will be 3 in a few weeks and we are a bit stuck as to what to get her. She likes playing on her brothers leap pad so that is a contender, as is the mini micro scooter. She has a hello kitty scooter but its not very good and she can't get on with it. She tried out a mini micro in John Lewis yesterday and loved it but she is not very athletic and very clumsy!

Help us to decide! She is getting a rapunzel dress from an aunt and probably some art supplies. Ds wants to get her "cloppy shoes"!

What about a balance bike?

We don't have one, but they are meant to be great.

I'd go with the scooter as we are coming up to the good weather now. She could get a leap pad or similar at xmas.

I would go for the scooter too. My three yr old ds loves his! He is also clumsy and not very athletic and the scooter has really helped his balance and coordination. It is definitely worth the money.

Good point about the leap pad at Christmas! She did love the scooter. She is so reliant on the buggy and I want to get her out of it so this could be the way!

If she's into Rapunzel and princess stories, how about getting her a wooden castle? My DS and D Niece both love his and play out all the fairy tales. It doubles as a doll's house and has been known to stable horses and often passes as a multistorey car park! It lends nicely to extending dressing up play and your DD could be the princess or the knight in shining armour, even a dragon.

Having said that, if she isn't too coordinated, this is an ideal age to introduce a mini scooter so she can practice. Happy shopping!

How about an easel and some art supplies?

MummyPig24 · 03/03/2013 18:26

I did consider an easel, a castle would be lovely but she already has 2 happy land houses.
