Yup, used both.

Hated bambino mio - poo leaked everywhere. But DD has a J-Lo shaped bum, and I think any prefolds would have been useless.

Tots I love - especially the bamboozles. They have fitted both of mine really well, and hold a lot.

Thanks flamesparrow that's useful... anyone else ?

I used to like tots bots... but ds is quite tall and although they go round him fine they just aren't high enough in the rise! bit like hipster nappies

so, not a great one for taller children i think

Funny you feel this way my son is very tall and I didn't have problem on height.

I moved up to size 3 totsbots when ds was 18 months and he's still wearing them at night at 3.5 (91st centile height). Tots can shrink in the tumble drier if you dry them at a high temp.

Love tots - haven't heard much positive stuff about Bamnino Mio tbh. People seem to like them until they try another brand and realise there are better nappies out there.

starlover · 02/05/2006 12:32

hmm i only ever tumble them for about 10 mins on low heat, so don't think i've shrunk them.
he is 98th for height.

mcmudda · 02/05/2006 12:43

Starlover - you might just need the next size up then! When I bought the next size for ds, he was using so few during the day I just got 10, but could have got away with fewer.

starlover · 02/05/2006 12:45

i've sold them and just use meos now which seem to suit hm better!

pupuce · 02/05/2006 12:46

Any other Bambino Mio users ?

I hope these Mios are alright, my mum has bought me some and I have bid for some on ebay. A friend of mine with a similar age baby and her two antenatal chums all swear by them. Its strange that no one on here gets on with them. Someone advised me to get cotton bottoms wraps to use them with, dont know how that will work.

pupuce · 03/05/2006 19:43

My only experience - was a client on Bambino Mio - and she disliked them too.
I think the point is if you try something else THEN you relaise there are better ones out there.
It's like Cotton Bottoms are really crap (can't say the wraps are but definitely the nappies are not great!) - and I speak from doula experience here.

We used Cotton Bottoms for a couple of weeks - simlar to Bambino Mio - and found them OKish. Wouldn't have used them long term. But Tots are great. We've been using for the last 8 months and will continue to do so as long as he fits the size 2 (we had the problem with the size 1 being low-rise and DS grew out of them before he was 6 months).

peaches27 · 03/05/2006 23:26

Nappy lady recommended tots bots to me. I really cannot part with that amount of money though.

Flamesparrow · 04/05/2006 08:57

Is it for a newborn Peaches? I have a small cotton bottoms prefold and wrap if you want them? Bought a trial pack in boots, and only used it once.

pupuce · 04/05/2006 09:24

Peaches - what do you mean ? We're talking about £150 for a child...

Peaches - if you want tots then ebay always has loads, and their resale price has dropped a lot since bamboozles and fluffles came out... You could probably get preowned ones for about the same amount you would spend on the bambino.

peaches27 · 04/05/2006 15:20

Sorry I am so crap at links. But take a look at ebay

Item number: 7762355252 . They appear to be reusables of a similar construction to tots bots (not sure as I havent seen one) What do you think??

peaches27 · 06/05/2006 14:13

I have got some Bambino Mios and I am very happy with them now, no leaks, easy to put on etc. I am using them with cotton bottoms wraps which were half price at Boots. This is with a 5 month old girl, who isnt a particularly heavy wetter but leaked with terries overnight. BTW she is past the explosive poo stage.

I did a little experiment with a terry and a BM prefold, both folded. I poured 6oz of water on each, this went through to the worktop and wet the worktop with the terry but it was contained with the Bambino mio. I found that when doing the initial washes to prepare the nappies, it was helpful to use the tumble drier.

There are some helpful reviews of this product on ciao.

If you go for Bambino Mio buy some Mio Lite wraps. Just got some this week and they are very good, the fit is excellent, lovely and soft and no leaks. I read the blurb on the website and these were supposed to be designed for chubby babies ... I wouldnt call ours chubby at all!

Now I have the Mio Lite wraps I like the system even more.
