Are cloth nappies ok for toddlers?

Which are the best? How much do they cost? How often is your washing machine on? Do they look flipping ridiculous? Are they as absorbent as throw awayers?

Any other info would be useful or links or whatnot... just curious... DH probably wouldn't be very happy about em trying this as I'm cr*p at keeping up with the washing already..

Do you have to put terries inside a wrap too?

Plastic pants from mothercare will do at a pinch but yes I would use a wrap if I were you.

Basically anything that doesn't include a waterproof layer itself will need a wrap (waterproof covering, although breathable unlike the plastic pants that were around in our day).

So how often do you change the wraps? (ARGH! lol)

Can I get away with two wraps each or is that really skanky? !

Was hoping to be able to say 'If I wanted to do something you won't like but I want to do, but when I prove to you that I can do it and it works, you'll like it..would you be willing for us to spend £50?' this is, obviously, an impossible dream for two children lol..

What can I say - hubby is Scottish and Sceptical!

Depends on your DCs' poo habits -- if explosive runny poo is pretty rare and the wraps don't get too whiffy then you could probably just about get away with two each and alternate one on and one in the wash for each DC. Three each would work better though. OR if you think they could share a size (from what you say it's possible they are both a medium) you could do five between them.
