small. they are very generous. medium will be too big and gappy round the legs.

The Nappy Lady does a hire service for the small size. Can't remember how much it costs but you get six wraps and they all looked brand new to me. Definitely more economical than buying four new ones which will only last a few weeks or so.

I would say small(!) ds was big at 10 pounds 5 and is now about 14 pounds and the mediums are still a bit big round his skinny legs! Depends whether you are planning on starting with cloth nappies straight away though, I know some people wait a while until they get over the tiny newborn, pooing every 10 seconds bit which would mean you could definitely by pass the smalls!

I think it varies depending on what nappy you use. I'm using bimbles, bumbles and a first size tots bots,on a 7 wk old who is now about 11lb. Hes in the small ME wraps and over his smaller nappies still on the smallest poppers , over the big nappies I use the middle popper.
Would agree that buying a couple of mediums is sense as you will use them later any way- get some smalls if you find M to gappy with your chosen nappy.
I get by fine with only 3, 1 on, 1 off 1 in the wash. They get washed w with any wash thats going , not just the nappy wash, and they dry dead quick.
