...I am off to one tomorrow morning with my almost 4 month old DS. Never been before and was just wondering what sort of thing to expect.

Half an hour sitting in a circle singing rhymes and shaking bells.

I work in a library and led my first Rhymetime last week. Only had two kids, so I read the stories the 3 year old wanted and sang songs at the 10 month old Grin. It was lovely. Our library is tiny tho, in a bigger library it will be more structured and they separate Rhymetime (for babies) and Storytime (for preschoolers).

Wow, that's a really rambly way of saying exactly what wips said!

Usually 20 - 30 mins of nursery rhymes. Sometimes a few rattles or bells. Sometimes some soft toys. Usual drill is babies are interested for 5-10 mins then start crawling off/crying/pulling books of shelves as Mums stress levels rise and library staff wonder why they're bothering when they could be having a cup of tea.

I have fond memories of rhyme time days Smile.

Our library would get out the nicest / new baby + toddler books at the end so we could choose a new one to take home.

Sitting in a circle. Singing songs with the wrong words.

I keep getting told I should go but don't think it'd be my thing, it'd be good to hear how it went Green.

For me I'd be getting up really early and I'm worried baby will be asleep or feeding for that half hour, my luck!
