happybebe · 26/04/2006 14:30

lol its okay i found another gina debate to watch in the bottle breast feeding forum! this one is getting dull! good old gina, without her my life would be dull! Grin

happybebe · 26/04/2006 14:33

just going to wake my baby up from her 2 hour lunchtime nap caged in a dark room with no hope of rescue, alone and unloved...then i will clip on her ball and chain and neglect her for until 5 o clock precisely whilst i drink a large glass of water... all because i follow gina Grin

Cadmum · 26/04/2006 15:46

WooHoo! Controlled NEGLECT! A new term. Why only water? Am off to lurk on the BF thread... I am so unworthy!

spidermama · 26/04/2006 15:51

Oh marvellous! My life is now complete. Wouldn't you just die without the inspired parenting insights of Gina Ford? Wink

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 26/04/2006 15:58

'from Britain's number one childcare expert'

expatinscotland · 26/04/2006 15:59

All from a woman w/no children.

And I thought that suck ass 'Misconceptions' whinge fest was bad.

Xavielli · 26/04/2006 16:00

Hullo folks....

New to all this and not a great one for expert opinions on my children as they don't know them.

That said.... what is so horribly wrong that this bird has written. I am not being antagonistic... just green on the subject!

JoolsToo · 26/04/2006 16:01

"relentless critism"

well that's one thing she does know about Grin

expatinscotland · 26/04/2006 16:01

First post, eh, Xav? Wink

Do a search on Gina Ford. And that's all I'm going to post.

JoolsToo · 26/04/2006 16:01

you a bloke?

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 26/04/2006 16:02

You know, every time I see 'contented little baby book' I read 'demented little baby book'.

expatinscotland · 26/04/2006 16:03

My little baby is so contented! Fed on demand, swaddled, sleeps next to her mummy and daddy in her Moses basket, rides in a sling on mummy's hip or on daddy's back :)

bundle · 26/04/2006 16:10

have just requested a review copy of this Wink

lazycow · 26/04/2006 16:14

expat - why can't she ride on a carrier on daddy's hip? - just interested.

I've noticed that men never seem to carry babies in slings. dh carries ds in an ellaroo hip carrier all the time but he and I have noticed that we only ever see men carrying babies on their backs in a backpack or in one of those front upright carrier types. Is it considered girly or something?

bundle · 26/04/2006 16:17

john simpson pictured carrying his baby in sling this week.

lazycow · 26/04/2006 16:17

ahh cute - glad it's not just dh then

expatinscotland · 26/04/2006 16:17

b/c dh prefers her on his back. he's worked as a manual labourer all his adult life and has a lot of old injuries, so carrying something heavy on one side for too long hurts.

Xavielli · 26/04/2006 16:18

Ahhh.... ok I get it... So she wants my 16 month old to be prep-ed for the Royal Marines.

Seems like they are trying to plough out maladaptive babies.... they'll suffer later on!

My son ate, slept, pooped and played whenever he wanted and slept through at 8weeks. Love and understanding goes alot further than regimentation... He knows I'll always be there when he wakes up... thats all the structure he need IMHO.

lazycow · 26/04/2006 16:20

expat - I really wasn't having a go of any sort - just when I saw what you wrote (in fun I know) it reminded me of the conversation dh and I had a couple of days ago about this subject.

Aorry will go off now an hijack another thread.

expatinscotland · 26/04/2006 16:22

no, he just prefers her on his back. can't say i blame him. he stays home w/the two girls during the day and as one is 2.10 he has to chase after her a lot.

happybebe · 26/04/2006 16:25

i knew there had to be a reason why i did gina with my baby and am doing it again with number two, so she can earn me lots of money as an army nut! also she can do all my housework, what a lovely caring mum i am. cadmum, perfectly correct why am i only having water?! :)

Cadmum · 26/04/2006 16:49

happybebe: Since your baby is content in her cage (and well on her way to being independent despite not being able to do anything for herself for at least a year) then you should be having a glass of wine!!!
