how do I coax ds out of his veg rut?

My ds is 2.4 and has always been a good boy for eating his veggies - he loved carrots, peas and sweetcorn in particular. However just lately he's really gone off it - he'll pick at whatever else is on his plate, but leave the veg.

How can I get him eating it again? I'm worried he doesnt get enough nutrients.

Although it is difficult I always find that what produces the best results with food is to relax. When my back is turned and I pretend not to take an interest in what he is eating I get the biggest surprises. We have tried concealing veg in various forms - i.e. grating carrot in to rice etc and he sniffs it out and refuses the whole plate! Also we have noted that he eats everything at nursery no fuss and with his grandparents he has been seen eating all sorts including olives!

KCBA, soo true about nursery!! We picked up out 2.2 year old the other day, and were told he had a double helping of broccoli!! Every time I give him broccoli at home he looks at it like it's a live rattlesnake!

Also agree it's best to relax and pretend you don't care, maybe don't offer ex- favourite veg for a few days. This sometimes works-

Bah fat fingers!!!

This sometimes works- put some on your plate but not his, and say " this is mummies, you can't have any! " and refuse to share! Had my little boy eating sweetcorn like its chocolate ( for a few weeks anyway...) . Good luck!

Hahaha dd was exactly like that at his age. Peas and sweet corn only? She's now 3.10 and eats her veggies first leaving the meat till last Hmm
