Pub in evening with baby?

Our baby is 3 months old. I'd like to go to our local's pub quiz one night, I breastfeed and we don't have family nearby to babysit, would you take baby? Am I being crazy to think this is okay?

As others have said it entirely depends on the pub. We have some child- friendly places around here but children, inc tiny babies, have to have gone by between 7-8pm. The only pubs I would imagine would be the exception are Rhodes that are more eating rather than drinking type places. I have 2 dc's but would be a not Hmm to see a 3mo in a pub in the evening, sorry.

Rhodes??? I mean pubs obviously. Bloody phone!

If they've taken them out in that weather them I'm sure they can get them home in it! Anyway the licensing is key - we got thrown out of a pub at lunchtime in Scotland as the licensing is a bit different. Why don't you try going to the pub for a pub lunch then you can make enquiries and see how he reacts to the noise. I had trouble getting my dd to latch on anywhere remotely interesting from 4 m so it's worth finding out if the atmosphere is ok. Also I think at 3m you might get away with an evening out with baby but it's a short-lived thing so make the most of it while you can and start searching out babysitters for when you can't! Good luck.

I wouldn't find that relaxing, tbh. Hard to enjoy a night out at a pub (whether drinking alcohol or not) when you've a baby in tow. Each to their own, I suppose.

My 10 month old comes to the village quiz pretty much every month :) Ours is at the village hall but there is a bar. Since they banned smoking in pubs I wouldn't hesitate to take a baby.

We take him because he doesn't sleep reliably in the evenings so we don't want to leave him with our tame teenager we pay to babysit the others.
