Sons 1st haircut?

My son is 11 months old and his lovely hair is getting very long in the back.
I have two girls 7 and 4 and they didn't have even a trim until three years old as I just let it grow long and they get a cut two or three times a year now.
However never having a boy before I feel strange getting a first haircut so early but it looks needed on him.
How often do you get your sons haircut?

DS is 11mo and has had 5 hair cuts, he was born with loads of hair that never fell out so by 4 months it was reaching his tshirt. I like it short and get a number 4 in the summer 6 in the winter , i personally hate having my hair in my face and wear clips to keep it back every day so i can't stand seeing his long hanging in his face and since i wouldn't put clips or bobbles in the only way forward is a nice short back and sides :)

I would reccommend asking them to use clippers not scissors the only hair cut DS had with scissors my heart was in my mouth since they are cutting close to the ears with him twisting around!

Hiya.
My sons hair took a while to come through . From 0-6 months it was really wispy bits then started growing. It's not in his eyes yet but the back needs a trim up and round the ears.
Was going to get my aunt to do it as she used to do her kids and they all had lovely hair.
Wow five cuts in less then a year! I had two last year lol.

DS1 1st haircut at 14months :straight hair, cut every 6wks.DS2 1st & only haircut at 18months, curly hair, needs cutting again 12 weeks later. Both have hair cut with scissors, clippers for back of neck only as thinks looks softer,in a normal barber with a booster cushion and a big lollipop jar!
