My 5 year old never seems happy :(

My 5 year old DD never seems to be a happy child. She always seems miserable. Doesn't smile much constantly winds her older sister up which results in her constantly being told off . Tbh I wouldn't want to be her half the time. I try to play with her, chat to her , read to her but it always seems to end up with her sulking . She seems to have started wetting her self a lot and she has always been dry even at night since she was 2 and a half. We had a baby last July which I put a lot if the behaviour down to. She is fantastic with the baby but her mood and behaviour is getting me down and it's so tedious and tiring. I just feel like protecting her and cuddling her but she seems so cold towards us all. I have to go back to work soon evening time so I won't see her after school some days until morning and I'm worried it will get worse. Any ideas of what I can do ? TIA

Can you take her out for a regular special time, just the two of you?

have you heard of the book Love Bombing by Oliver James? Would be worth a read.

Hello, thank you for your replies :) I am going to try and organise something just me and her, we do go out quite a bit my 7 yr old stays behind with daddy but of course I have the baby :-/ I am going to see if we can do something just me and her. We put her new bed up tonight and she was thrilled , I was so happy to see her smile and be all excited and enthusiastic :) as it was hers and all for her and her only. I love her so much but her behaviour really gets me down then when DP or I discipline her I feel so guilty :(

I will download the book thank you :)
