Just got back from the school run and feel a bit bewildered.
My Ds is 6 and has just been playing tag with 4-5 other boys in the playground whilst we waited for the bell. (my view is that this is completely normal behaviour for a 6 year old boy)
One of the mothers of one of the other boys playing was shouting and trying to catch him telling him to stop playing and that someone is going to get hurt. Now I'm big on safety and sometimes get accused of being over the top (my DS has only 4 month ago had pins put in his arm to fix a triple break which he did falling off a slide (again normal behaviour!) he just fell awkwardly) but they were playing a game of tag in the safety of the school playground, no traffic, no wierdo's...(well), no ice etc etc. the mother then proceeded to look us other mothers up and down with disgust as though we'd dropped off another planet! Now I dont let my DCs run into the road or cross railway lines or climb buildings or the such but come on!
