Good clothes for long-bodied baby!

Hi,
Can anyone recommend brands that do baby clothes quite long in the body? My DD is outgrowing all her stuff because it is not long enough shoulder to crotch. she's a long thin baby. Any advice on clothes that seem to fit these dimensions?
Thanks

We just had to go up an age size - DS went into 4 - 6mo at 1 month old...

Kittycatcat · 10/01/2013 14:50

I think Tesco range is quite long but I have short babies ;-)

I bought some European makes as we use real nappies and need more length. I find Katvig and Smafolk good. I buy them second hand on eBay.

I usually find gap stuff slim fitting on my dcs, so maybe you could go up a size to get the length you need without being stupidly wide?

PickledInAPearTree · 10/01/2013 14:57

Long thin babies are tough !

If you get bigger sizes they are often baggy..

Agree with gap for slim. Tesco stuff is big but more suitable for a rotund little person as they are also rather wide. Likewise mothercare

john lewis (try second hand on ebay)

For vests use vest extenders to lengthen the body on your existing vests

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 10/01/2013 16:47

I buy from.H&M. I find them a great fit on long DD. And the sizes last! She is one, and in some 12-18m stuff but there are the odd vest/leggings in 6-9m she still wears.

I adore the shop!

I don't have an H&M near me alas! I have never heard of vest extenders lol the things you learn hey. Thanks everyone!xxx

Sainsburys stuff always seems on the long side to me - the sleepsuits certainly are x

MrsPennyapple · 10/01/2013 20:19

I hadn't heard of vest extenders either. Useful to know as DD is long in the body. If I buy bigger the split necks come down off her shoulders.

Overdecorated · 10/01/2013 20:22

I second sainsburys. My 4 month old is in 91st percentile for length but wears age appropriate from there

BrokenBananaTantrum · 10/01/2013 20:32

Vertbaudet is good for longer slimmer babies I found when DD was little. That was 6 years ago though.

mummysmellsofsick · 10/01/2013 20:54

H&M vests are the first I've found that really fit my long bodied cloth bottomed DS well.

PoppyWearer · 10/01/2013 20:55

Agree H&M. Try buying online?

CoolaSchmoola · 10/01/2013 21:13

Agree Vertbaudet - but make sure you check the sizing guides as they word their sizings weirdly - ie if you buy their size "3 months" it's actually UP TO 3 MONTHS, as opposed to from 3 months (which is what normally happens).

So if you want 0-3 months you need to order "3 months", if you want 3-6 months you need to order "6 months".

Their stuff is lush though and they regularly have great offers/discounts so even though it appears relatively expensive with the offers it's about average.

Geckoandthemonkey · 10/01/2013 21:19

I have a long baby. In fact he's off the chart for length. I recommend H&M, Sainsbobs and Next.
