when do children start playing together?

My DD is 19 months and attends nursery twice a week. As yet she isn't interested in playing with other children or even interacting with them.

I have noticed that some children her age do play together and are at the very least interested in other children.

So when do children start playing together and should I being something to encourage her? We do attend playground and toddler classes so DD does have plenty of opportunities to play/interact.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I would say nearer to 3, maybe even 3.5 to be honest, i certainly wouldn't worry at 19 months.

It varies from child to child - DD has played with others since she started walking at 12 months, but I know that that is quite early. She's later with other things though - which is how I think most children are - early with some things, later with others and which things they are early with/later with vary from child to child.

I wouldn't worry yet either.

I also wouldn't worry. My DD's class at daycare have just got better at playing together at around 26 months.
