my DS never did this. DD (now 2.5) is doing it ALL THE BLOODY TIME. the high pitched shrieking. whats it all about? is it normal? is it an age thing? a second child thing? a girl thing? and more importantly how can i curtail it? i am ending every day with a headache and as i am pg dont really like to take anything for it. the house is far too noisy and i am far too stressed!

My 2yo screams and shouts at me too, particularly over Xmas made worse by all the excitement.

Best thing I have read which seems to have an effect is to whisper your response back. Or just say quietly 'I can hear you'. Not sure I've found the magic answer yet though so will be watching with interest.

My twin nieces (3.5) do this all the time and have been for at least 6 months, probably more. Their parents just think its sweet - which it really isn't especially when we have a baby that we're trying to get to nap or just have quiet time. They do it together which makes it so much worse! Don't know how to stop it but it is normal!
