Getting a 3 month old to sleep

I know 3 months is too early to sleep train, but DS 14 weeks ends up overtired as he constantly nods off in our arms then screams when put down. At moment we wait till he's our sparko then put him down.

Is there anything I can do to encourage better sleep habits? My DD just use to fall asleep on bottle and be out cold and go down easily.

My back is starting to ache from the rocking! My mum suggested persevering with ssh patting but everything I've read says not until 6 months.

Any suggestion / experiences welcome Grin x

Try putting him down earlier? By about half an hour? Rock/feed/cuddle - don't bother with sleep training until a little older as he'll change quickly and be more ready.

Use a dummy ? When he's finished his feed and is sleepy pop the dummy in and then put him down... sends our ds off. That and swaddling. Or a sleeping bag whilst you feed so he's all cosy when you put him down.

He's in a gro bag & will not entertain a dummy unfortunately but might keep trying. Will have a go at putting him down earlier and patting etc. thanks for replies xx
