Has this happened to anyone else?

This isnt a major problem or anything I just wondered if anyone else experienced the same and if anyone knows why this has happened...

I have become such a scaredy cat since having my baby. I used to be fine in the dark, in the house on my own, watching scary movies etc but since giving birth, I get a dry mouth and shake with fear watching even slightly scary films, I am terrified in the house on my own after dark and will not go anywhere in the dark outside on my own (even when pregnant i would walk the dogs in pitch black countryside quite happily).
Is this normal?!!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Not exactly the same things but yes, I am much more aware of 'risk' then I was pre children.

I realised it on a skiing holiday when dc1 was 6mths old. I just sat on a slope and cried because I was terrified I would break something and not be able to look after the baby.

There have been many other instances in the 11years since that holiday!

Pregnancy and the first few months with baby made me much more wary - to the point where I had counselling for anxiety via my GP. I've always been a bit of a worrier and I think that got exaggerated when I was pregnant. It's got easier in the 3 years since.

I think to a certain degree its normal everyone is diffrent but i deffo agree your more careful after you have had a baby and more aware of things if that makes sense......
