11 yr DD destructiveness

Well its only 4 days after Christmas and DD got her first ring and my eldest sister bought her some makeup etc today I find the ring flattened and hidden and bits of the makeup used as crayons and others just ruined

She keeps doing this everything gets either ripped up, picked at written on or taken apart we then ask her where zyx is and get the shrug or I dont know which just winds me up ARGGGHHHH

When will she outgrow this, am I just better off saying bin it and shrug saying it belongs to her so she can do this and not replace (we dont anyway)

Does she have anything she values and looks after?

madbengal · 30/12/2012 19:10

She has looked after her Laptop but picked at the rubber on her phone and the buttons so that got taken off her as it was basically useless

She looks after her toys like her lego and barbie but I think thats mainly cos she has outgrown them but wont get rid of them if that makes sense

But new stuff seems to catch her attention more! Jewellery and hairbands get broken the most

How much excise does she get?

Has she said why she does it, is it deliberate, does she regret it? or is a sort of absent minded type thing?

It must be very stressful for you and her, sorry to ask so many questions, but usually there is a reason it must be hard to see it close up, i've come across a few children that do this, all had different reasons behind it,

Does she like making things?

LOL its okay, MIL says OH did the exact same thing its kinda absent minded or she is trying to stay awake after lights out (so you find a pile of crap either under her pillow or behind the bed) he apparently just grew out of it

We do tend to walk alot and she does gymnastics and dancing after school so its not that atleast

Yeah she does she still loves it when I make playdoh and will sit for hours with that and her lego (maybe might make some more with her) and we love to bake (and get messy lol)

Just this ascept it literally is the only thing that really frustrates me and tbh MIl saying now you know what i went through to OH just doesnt feckin help

I think MIL is taking too much delight in DD being like her dad is all fecking ways without actually giving any insight or helpful hints grrrrr
