Hi,

DD is 19wks and has eczema it's managed well by liberal use of baby eczema aveeno and waitrose bottom butter (cheap, greasy and v v natural check it out!) and haphazard hydrocortisone just odd applications on red patches as needed. However she also has what I think is eczema under/over cradle cap on forehead and over head. Poor dd going mad all night as was obviously itchy. I don't like using hydrocortisone on her face as she could rub it and chew her fingers but today how just gone for it and have tried to rub some into head too. Up to now just been using olive oil on head but clearly not relieving the itchiness - any recs. very gratefully received.

What does your GP recommend? Have you tried posting in children's health or the allergies board too, you may get a few more replies.

Warm olive oil. (recommended by a gypsy trying to flog me teatowels on my doorstep. She saw DS3 sitting in his high chair plastered with cream and "advised" me to wipe the crap off my poor child and use warmed olive oil on a cotton pad. Worked like a dream and never came back (the eczema, not the gypsy, she turns up regular!)

You should save up your problems and ask her for advice when she comes around, she sounds great Xmas Grin

Oh, she's certainly not backward at coming forward jilted. Grin
She turns up about twice a year. It costs me a fiver for a couple of tea towels I could have picked up for half that on the market, but I enjoy her company and feel it's worth it.

Could you send her around to mine? I've got a few issues I could do with sone advice on Xmas Grin

Oats (your regular Quaker oats porridge variety) wrapped in a muslin cloth and popped in with their bath.

Could be infected cradle cap and not eczema? Resist the urge to pick, olive oil did work wonders for us - rub it on and wash it off the next day.
