Idea's for (quiet) games for the kids to play

Hi all,

We're having a family gathering in a pub on Xmas eve and although ds's are usually pretty well behaved when out I thought I'd ask if any of you have any ideas for any games we can play with them or they can play alone
I'm thinking of anything like stuff we can print out for them to do, or easy to transport crafts (that won't leave a mess).

Otherwise I'll revert back to my usual jigsaws, magazine and iphone if things get desperate!

Merry Xmas everyone
x

Dead lyons or statues?

are they old enough for a simple board game like snakes and ladders or a card game like snap or noughts and crosses?

Sorry I should have said ages, they're 5 and almost 7.

Card games are a good idea, my eldest especially loves playing fish.

Thanks

Sticker books are good.

If either of them like drawing, new paper & pens.

If adults don't mind joining in a bit, how about picture Consequences - ie everyone draws a head on a separate piece of paper, folds it over (so tiny bit of neck is showing), pass it on, draw a body, fold & pass, draw legs, fold & pass, and finally draw feet and see what you've got.

Chicken Socks do a good book of pictures you can make drawing round your hand. You can also get those tins of kits to make pictures out of finger prints.
