Lost my parenting mo-jo

I'm a SAHM to a DD (2 years old) and I'm in a bit of a parenting slump.

Honestly, I don't want to play doctors, or sing the wheels on the sodding bus, or dance around the Christmas tree. I would say that over the two years I've been at home I've been a highly engaged parent, planning lots of lovely activities and have enjoyed this time. However I've hit a bit of a slump and can't find my mo-jo.

DD will be starting part time nursery next year but I'm expecting number two and would like to be the happy enthusiastic mama I was. Anyone else experienced this and come out the other side all Mary Poppins?

I never enjoyed that stuff Blush. That's what nursery, siblings and playdates are for!

Jigsaws, books, board games, playdough and walks sure. Singing, soft play, playgrounds, "pretending" games - no thanks!

You sound a bit flat like you need a break. And sone adult time. Make the most of the nursery hours and don't feel guilty. Rest, meet up with friends, please yourself for a while - you will need it before dc2.
Never dies me any harm as a parent to have enough of a break to miss my kids.

It's hard when you're pregnant, give yourself a break!

I'm 29 weeks and there is no dancing around the Christmas tree here! Today I joined in with DD's imaginary games by lying on her bed reading my Kindle and saying "ooh lovely darling" every so often.I thought that was a pretty good effort tbh.

What countess said!

I'm 37 + 5 and my wonderful parenting consisted of playing catch and being silly with DD and blowing raspberries and tickling DS this evening.

I can just about manage to be a patient when they want to play doctors (very ill, laid up in bed of course!) or a ticket lady who never gets up off the sofa!

Be kind to yourself!

I'd just like to add I hate playing truck races. Hate it !
