I realised last night as I was sneezing while breastfeeding, that I have learnt a new skill - blowing my nose one-handed Grin

Any other new talents out there that you never expected to learn but are now essential?!

Applauding when the potty is successfully used, along with managing to look at the contents without wincing/gagging...oh, the joys.

Making very mundane things sound fascinating as a distraction from a building tantrum. Today I found myself saying "oh look, I can see some gravel" !!!!!!

Shoes, that's hilarious. I'm not there yet, but I can so easily see me doing that!

How to "catch" baby sick (all over my front, and mostly in my bra!) so not a drop got on the sofa ;) learnt that today on the job!

How to convincingly bluff answers on esoteric subjects, to deflect "why" questions, e.g.
The sky holds itself up, it stands on the air.
Birds eat berries that people can't because they can't taste how yucky the berries are.
Graffiti is drawn by silly people who don't know about paper.
We mustn't touch toadstools because we'll disturb the fairies that live in them.
Diggers only work when builders wear their hard hats and hi-vis.
Bad teeth get less tooth fairy money because fairies make castles from teeth, and white castles are prettier.

More the rantings of a mother too tired to go into the repercussions of the real answer!
Two really inquisitive DCs drove me to it!

I learnt how to lift my own bodyweight in toddler and tesco shopping bags. Seriously, give me that much weight in the gym and I'd tell you where to shove it!

I've learnt how to completely infuriate anyone who says I'm doing it wrong - due in part to you lovely Mumsnetters Grin

I've learnt how to bite my tongue when I really want to go thermonuclear. Hopefully it'll come in handy when I'm back at work.
