Breast crawl

Hi,

My 3.5 week old is currently formula fed (he isn't interested in bf - he just screams). I've noticed that when I put him on my front he does the breast crawl up me. Where is he going? Is it just the instinctive thing kicking in? And how long do they continue to do this for?
