found out last week i'm expecting again and dd is currently 13 months.

she is a confident walker and started walking at 9.5 months, so is pro now. having said that though, she is still tiny and gets tired very easily.

is is unavoidable to buy a double buggy? could we get away with using the stroller fror dd and a sling for the newborn for 4-6 months?

thank you.

I never bothered with a double buggy- there are 28 months between my DDs. If you get a decent sling (not one of those shitty Baby Bjorn things) and learn to use it properly then it will be comfortable enough to carry a newborn for sure- I still carry my DD2 around a lot and she's 21 mo. If you have a buggy that's suitable from birth then you can swap who goes in the buggy and who goes in the sling or walks.

I did get a buggy board but DD1 never liked it, also it never worked with our quinny zap because the brake was in the way.

I know lots of parents that have survived without a double buggy so it's definitely do-able. See if there's a sling group near you that can advise on different types of carrier.

Thank you all for your replies, think I'll try a sling fir newborn and keep stroller for dd, and if I find its horrendously difficult I'll buy a second hand doube buggy.

I was watching the OBEM catch up programme the other day and there was a woman with triplets. She had a double buggy with a bike attached to it. The toddler was strapped onto the bike. No idea what make it was but i reckon it would be perfect in your situation.
