Ideas for present from new baby to DS1, also for 'special' toys to use when BF.

Hi,

Can you help me? I'm not sure what to get, DS1 will be 2.4 when DS2 arrives. He seems pretty taken with babies, and tends to get on with things. But I'd like to give him a present from the new baby? Any ideas?

Also, what can I put in a box that's only for use when I BF the new baby.

Thanks

DS brought a balloon for DD when he arrived. I didn't have special toys, just became adept at reading a book or cuddling DD whilst bf DS.

I had a csec with ds2 so he had to and did adapt quickly to me being limited in what I could do. If I was bf ds2 my then16mo would bring a book and sit at my feet do he was near me. I don't think you'll need anything in particular. Congrats btw and a the best.

You can get lovely 'congrats on being a big brother' cards from funkypigeon.com I got one for my nephew. I also got him some cool sunglasses too, which he randomly loved (was 3 years old).

Books are good to read to him whilst bf'ing. I've watched friends master doing this whilst bf'ing (keeps them entertained hopefully).

I noticed one in the library yesterday: Max & Millie and the new baby... Introduces the baby and Millie gets jealous but then max comes to play and its all ok. Good way of explaining that baby needs attention more than ds! Grin
