I knew I had passed but was hoping for 80% + given the amount of work I put into it. My tutor e-mailed me this morning to tell me I had passed with 60% (pass was 40%)
Am I wrong to feel upset with my mark? Just feel so disheartened, am currently doing my 2nd one and now feel like burning it Sad

Can you ask for a bit more input ie where you could improve, where you lost marks etc???

LadySherlockofLGJ · 11/04/2006 11:35

Oh dear, but you did miles better than the pass mark.

Mosschops30 · 11/04/2006 11:41

yes will get feedback when I get back on 24th april.
Top bracket of pass is 70%+, so I am in the 2nd bracket of 60-69%.

But I am absolutely gutted!

Mosschops30 · 11/04/2006 12:03

Have just had some 'love' from my tutor saying the average is 48-55% for a first assignment!

Still upset Sad Sad

Mosschops - you passed girl!! Hooray WELL DONE!! Give yourself a treat you've done fab!!

And you passed with an abov average score! Brilliant!!

juliab · 11/04/2006 12:07

oh mosschops, I'm sorry. just what you needed at the moment...
but it was your first one, right? And were only 10% off the top bracket? I don't think that's anything to be ashamed of.
When you get your feedback, you may find there's something really simple your tutor's looking for that you've forgotten to include - maybe it's a presentational thing or maybe you leave out basic stuff because it's so blinking obvious but your tutor needs it all spelled out, Noddy-style.
How much does this mark matter in the scheme of things? Does it count towards your final mark?
(And how come I can write all this and yet not write a thing of my own? Wink)

juliab · 11/04/2006 12:09

Well, there you go - 60% is bloody great then!
By the way, isn't Sallystrawberry studying to be a nurse too? Sure I saw her posting about it today somewhere (not that I was looking at Mumsnet - no no no no, I was WORKING)

Sorry to hear you're disappointed mosschops, but well done on what is still a very good mark Smile

I had exactly the same thing happen today with mine - got a good score but it is still my lowest score of the course so far and I can't help feeling disappointed Sad

hi sal, just so gutted, you know how much work we put into that assignment, all those saturday nights bashing away at the keyboard until 1am!

I am struggling through assignment 2 also, think I have banged on far too long about Black report & Acheson, just think I keep repeating myself.

Mo has been really supportive bless him. When do you get your mark?

juliab, get off this thread and do some bloody work Grin

god how frustrating couldnt she have e-mailed it to you? I'm sure you will do really well.
Linsey got hers she got 70%, which is probbly why I am sooo p*** off

You have to let me know when you get yours.

I have done 900 words this morning, already done just over 2000 for my reflection so only about 1000 to go ...hurrah.

Why do I care will probably get 15% for this one

yes all rush at the last minute as usual, did you see the useless advice that Peter Hirskey put on blackboard about looking at the feedback from module 1 and using it to improve in module 2. Does he not realise that we wont get this feedback until 24th, which leaves us ....ooh all of 1 week to create a 4000 word assignment ...honestly some of these people Angry
