Infant Gaviscon - how often and can I give with infacol

Started giving 6wk old DS gaviscon this week for suspected reflux. He's definitely better for it but the last few evenings he's also showing signs of still suffering with trapped wind which I know gaviscon won't help with. Trying to be be vigilant with winding him but he doesn't bring it up easily. Can I also give him infacol? Has anyone else given both? Reluctant to pump him too full of stuff but also hate to see him so uncomfy and upset.

Also did you give the full 6 doses in 24hrs? He's ebf so giving with syringe which means some dribbles back out, also he's too sleepy during night feeds and won't swallow at all.

TIA

I gave Infacol and Gaviscon, no problem. And Ranitidine too eventually.

IIRC Infacol isn't absorbed by the system, it just helps relieve the wind.
Check out the range of winding positions around too, as the way I winded DS had to change as he grew.

We were ment to give dd gavascon with every bottle she severe reflux but didnt like the thought of that so we changed her milk to cow and gate comfort special milk and the difference was unbelieveable without adding any medication

Hi. Ds is 12 weeks. Doc prescribed 3 in 24 hours and suggested every other feed. I use two at a time cos of the weight guide and I don't do them during the night. Definitely helped.
