night scteaming. ... does your baby do this

Last two evenings my little fella has woke up screaming in what sounds like pain or terror. It is like no other cry he does. Scared the hell out of me and dp nearly had a heart attack. Does anyone else's little ones do the same. He whimper when he is waking but this is fast a sleep then ahhhhhhh! you can hear the terror. I pick him up and he instantly is fine

very common in toddlerhood.

They don't normally stop when you pick them up though, normally it takes a lot more than that. (Dd2 had night terrors for 6 months. It was a joy.)

If he's teeny tiny, it just sounds like trapped wind or whatever that is moved/ released when you hook him upright. Maybe try raising the head of the cot a wee bit on books.
